According to Statista, around 2.8 billion people used Facebook only for the fourth quarter of 2020. You can use Airmeet’s streaming feature and gain more audience for your virtual events, webinars, seminars, or conferences.

1. Prerequisites:

  1. Airmeet Community and an Event created.

  2. Facebook page or Facebook profile.

2. Walkthrough Video

3. Connect your Facebook account to your Airmeet community (Community Level)

Pre-setting the details at the community level is an optional method to save your settings for all the Airmeet events in one go created in your Airmeet community future.

You can select the pre-saved details from the event dashboard while mapping for your session or add new details according to your convenience.

Step 1: After logging into your Airmeet account, click on the “Integration” tab on the left side of the dashboard page and select "Live Stream Destinations" and select the stream destination.

Step 2: Click on the “Add Stream destination” button, and select “Facebook page or profile” to connect with Airmeet.

Step 3: Log in to your Facebook account and grant relevant permission to Airmeet to access your Facebook page or Facebook profile for streaming your event.

Note: If your Facebook page or Facebook profile does not automatically appear, log in to the Facebook account in the same web browser, then go back to the dashboard and select the Facebook page or Facebook profile option again.

Step 4: Select the relevant Facebook page or profile to link to your Airmeet account and click on “Add Destination.”

Your Facebook account is added at the community level and can be mapped to other events without performing the above actions again.

3.1. Delete your Facebook account at the Community Level

If you want to delete the connected/added stream,

Steps: Community Dashboard > Integration tab > Select the added Facebook destination > Click on the Bin icon beside your Facebook page.

4. Set up a Facebook page or profile stream for your sessions(Event Level)

Step 1: Select the Airmeet event where you want to stream your sessions.

Step 2: Go to the "Sessions" tab and click on “Session Settings> "Live Stream" on the left side, then click on the "Add Stream Destination" button and select your “Facebook page/profile” option.

Step 3: Select the Facebook page or profile where you want to stream and connect them.

If the account has already been connected & pre-saved in the “community dashboard,” select the connected account.

Step 4: Log in to your Facebook account and grant relevant permissions to Airmeet.

Select the relevant Facebook page or profile to which you want to stream your session in.

Click on the “Next” button.

Note: If your Facebook page or Facebook profile does not automatically appear, log in to the Facebook account in the same web browser, then go back to the dashboard and select the Facebook page or Facebook profile option again.

Step 5: Select the sessions you want to stream, or click on “All sessions” to select all the sessions. Click on the “Next” button.

Note: You can only select sessions that have not been started or are paused. Live or completed sessions cannot be selected.

Step 6: Enter the stream title and description, shown on the stream link.

Step 7: Click on “Add Destination,” and you are good to go.

Step 8: Your Facebook Live stream will start as soon as you start the session. It will end once you stop the session.

Note : It is recommended to not take a break when the session is live, as taking a break for more than 2 minutes will create another stream in your channel.

4.1. Edit and delete at the event dashboard

If you want to edit or delete the added stream, then click on the three-dot menu and update the information for any corrections before you go live. No edits can be made once the event is streaming.

5. Points to keep in mind:

  • Stream resolution for any session stream into Facebook is 720p.
  • Once streaming has begun, it has nothing to do with host/co-host bandwidth, as the host/co-host only triggers the start session, which starts the streaming as well.
  • For every mapped session, a new post is created and streamed.
  • Recommended not to take any breaks during a session that is being streamed. If the break is extended for more than 2 minutes, a new post will be published on your Facebook page/profile.

  • If the session was ended by the event host, the Facebook livestream would stop immediately.

  • It is advisable not to use any copyrighted content while streaming, as it may block your live streaming by the Facebook platform.
